One day he will be catching up with you, but as long as you have a train nearby to escape too, I think you'll be safe.
I need to get some ballast wagons for the per way gang, they keep complaining about having to use wheelbarrows.

These 'sealions' are actually out of my 'era' and will have to be 'backdated' to be a 'Walrus'..but..in reality a 'Sealion' cannot be a 'Walrus'... Walruses' have rivets,'Sealions' are welded, but ah no care, the price was right and a coat of black paint and some new numbers, only me will know...Harr......Dave

Sometimes I get fed the wrong info,I got the rake of 5 'sealions' yesterday, and they are rivetted, hundreds of them!!....so with a bit of black paint and stacks of weathering and some 'new' running numbers, they will be 'walrusssssses' in my mind! It's a crying shame to do anything to them really, they have the 'wow' factor!..looking great behind a class 20 or 25/26, infact, I think just about evey diesel in BR would be on a ballast train at some time in it's life! Several of my lot had a go last night on this wee train, even 'DELTIC!!' (I somehow doubt that, but there again??) I just need a wee figure to represent ME in the guards van as that was my principal job way back at Carstairs Junction (BR) circa 82-85, but I know,ny 'era' is wrong, I worked with the 'blue' stuff!!! Latly, back in 'Walrus' country, I do believe they did run with a different type of bogie, up till when I don't know, but I won't be doing anything about that unless I can get more info, only then will I change them if such a bogie is available, but meantime, who cares?,I can now build a (temp)ballast siding and re live my past as a guard, but I need some of the smaller ballast wagons, I have some 'grampus' wagons in kit form somewhere, there's a start!!........Dave.
P/S.when I'm talking ballast, I'm going to give 'pool sand' a go,when I was filling my pool filter I thought, "Hmm"....ballast??..and at approx 20-30 bucks for 10 kilos, there is a lot of it!!

I've been doing something different......have a look 'ere.... cnlines.ca/CNcyclopedia/hop/img_398000c.jpgNow I had in my possession a couple of Accurail hoppers just lying about....when you have as much gear as I, that happens......so I been a choppin ana buildin a set of those in the piccy. So far I have the first end built....just have to add the centre coupling.....I'm going to use the coupling parts left over from a 5 car set of Walthers well cars. Now once I've built the other end, I'll send it to the big layout for trials and to see what I need to fix. Then to the paint shop for a coat of paint, some decals, think I'll do this one in my road name.......a piccy and more soon......Phil
