The water damage was from the ballasting of the track, I’ve now had the construction crew in and they have laid my car park, just the white lining to be done. Station platform is built, with most the fence up with the last bits needing a station building in place. Which I need but can’t decide on one, I would prefer a prebuilt one because kit ones never look the same. I have a space of 40mm by about 70 to 80mm for the building.

Sounds good, at last the construction crew have been at work doing something useful. Just need to get them back to do the station and to keep them away from the dancing girls that have sneaked onto the layout.

I think the construction workers were distracted 5 seconds after I took this picture my middle lamppost fell over the glue must have reacted with the paint on the platform and separated it. The brick work for the platform is OO gauge card but still looks better that what was moulded.

Looks good. Really must find a way to get those dancing girls under control. At least no one was hurt when the lamp post fell over.

Well the station is built only half the size of what it should be had to build a wall for the entrance. The platform at the front has now got the brick work to scale as the station came with a customization pack.

We'll I'm back, but I've sold all my non dcc n gauge trains except my BR blue 08. Also dismantled this layout. A new layout has been built with all the connection between tracks having a power wire to them as the old one had sections which didn't work. Also got a new dcc deltic DP1 looks very nice with 5 coaches behind it.

Adding a power feed to each piece of track is a good idea, even for non dcc layouts. Then the rail joiners only have to hold the ends of the rails in place. Will you be adding dcc to the BR blue 08 ?
Any photos of the new layout ?

Ok bit more done outter track now works under dcc it kept saying there was a short but worked with DC turn out dcc is more sensitive , but it's a issue with it back feeding from the inner track easy fix was to cut the track joiner track is still held in place by the track pins. I've taken a inner turnout inside the inner track off to replace it with plastic rail joiners but can I find the ones I have, no chance had to spend £1.85 for a new set. Used scotchloks to join the track wires to the bus wires very easy so much less fuss. Also got the north eastern A1 for my birthday with decoder I've fitted and gave it a good run in.
Pictures in bound soon.

A very easy thing to overlook I have found. I would add a plastic rail joiner to both rails from the inner turnout, then you know they are isolated. Only thing then is when something with metal wheels runs over the joint, but as long as it dosen't actually come to a stop with the wheel bridging the gap, things should be ok.

I don't think stopping will be a issue I think it was the wider wheels on the trains as i used long turnouts and looking at it there's a 10mm section where although the train has it wheels set to straight ahead it was just touching the back feed line which was the other direction to the power the train was traveling on. It only when the turnouts were set to straight ahead. And running at very slow it was always the 10mm section where it stopped. Although now I've done this I could of use electrofrogs turnouts and allowed trains to run slower over the turnouts.

Ok. Think, partly the problem is, with not having done much with N scale, I have a lot to learn about it.

I love n-gauge (British scale) as n-gauge covers a few scale sizes although it hard to see the size difference between 1.148 (British) 1.150 (Japan) and 1.160 USA & Europe. I think what you lose in detail which is not much looking at my a1 class you make up for compactness. I never knew n-gauge existed until 2009 when the trial magazine came out.

I am hoping to build the line from Liskeard down to Looe in Cornwall sometime in the future in N scale. Hard part is the Liskeard end of the line though.

All track work done apart from the most inner turnout. which needs a plastic joiner and wiring from the end of the track. still need other platform, bridge for the platform and goods shed.
