I've just been back on the B&D site and the thing is sold out!!.Now,there was one left when I ordered,I wonder if I were the lucky last orderer..."Hmmmmm??" I wont know until I go home and check my Email, I hope it was me!! Now,I won't need the extra handrails Phil, thankyou for the offer!, infact, there are a few supplied with this pack, most are already cut to length for the particular deck that they fit. I'll only change mine if these are of superior quality, as per the stairs, but at this stage, no stairs have been fitted, these are on the 'Extra' detail set that I ordered from the USA. Quality will win over here! I might have some problems with 'disassembling' some built parts, like the aft mast structure I've fitted the antenna/rigging supports to this and I may have some trouble getting them off without breaking, do you know of any product that will soften the glue so I can pull these things out??. I've also fitted railings to the two main structures on the aft mast, like the spotlight deck, the pack looks to have a lot of brass 'stiffners' fitted to the underside of these that will require the removal of their plastic counterparts, (maybe they are 'extra' I won't know till I have the thing in my hand) Major damage could result to the railings through heavy handling ,and these ones are very complex in their shape and I didn't notice replacements for them..but there again, I can't say for sure. It looks like the aft catapult and crane are totally replaced as is the catapult on turret 3, these are mostly plastic, some etch was included, the are pretty good, but I reckon the full etch will be really something. The two boat 'booms' will have their jibs completely re-made from the etch, this will involve a bit of butchery as these two units are completed, again some parts were etch from the actual kit, but they two will benefit from the new etch set. Summing up, I reckon I'll replace what I can, probably utilising most of the pack, it's the wooden deck that will probably make the biggest change, and it's the same mob that did our wooden deck for the Yamato (?) I will temporarily suspend the building for the moment until I receive this pack..perhaps not, there is still stuff that I can be getting on with!.......Dave

Nothing done last night, I just removed all the 'unfitted' stuff from the decks to have another look at fixing the hull in place as my idea of being able to remove it when built is "up the kyber pass" as I'll now be fitting a wooden deck! This will cover the joins in the deck, bow and stern which I had intended to leave 'unglued' so that I could access the screws below, now that I can't do that, I'm looking at ways I could put screws in from the keel into the upper part?? I'll also need an escape route for the wires if I light the thing up if I have to permantly fix these two parts together. Anyway, I await the detail kit, it was still in Melbourne last night awaiting it's turn on the mail plane!...Dave
P/S, technically, I did work on the Arizona last night, I drilled out a few portholes, strewth, the plastic is thick!! I'm only doing a handful of open portholes, if I light this I don't want it looking like a cruise liner!!!
