Well, somebody had to produce it and I suppose it had to be Hornby...and good on them....at last the class 8, "Duke of Gloucester" (Yip Yip) I've got it pre-ordered...for next Christmas!! They are also doing an LNER P4...that might be a' possible probability' as well, just because it is what it is,but I'm thinking,it'll be a 'static'display only....but there again, I'm getting Beyer Garratt!!......Dave

Phil, I t seems this loco is being introduced into the Hornby 'Railroad' range like the 'Duke'. The 'Duke' has also has 'special' edition available with 'etched plates', so I'm assuming it'll be a fully decorated and fully detailed loco as well, (ie..like a Britannia) that's why I've pre-ordered the 'SP ED' from Hattons, but I'll be watching it closely, if it's just a 'Railroad' loco, with detail 'moulded on', no way! So, in conclusion, I'm thinking, getting the Hornby catalogue will be a good idea, I'm sure that'll give us the whole story as to the exact specs of these 'new' locos, perhaps I'll have to include it with (and if) my '10001' finally appears from Rails!!....Dave

The next issue of Rail Express will have a run down of all of Hornby's new releases for 2013, so I thinks I'll wait to have a read then order.....Phil

Well done Phil, I loves their good ole Scottish names!!....I'm wondering if Hornby will produce them with the 'A4' type fronts?? I think I saw all of the Thompson rebuilds that carried these names in early in the 6os, and believe it or not, I liked them!!....Dave

Well, that was next on their (the A1 Trust)plan, a 'brand new P2' Andy but it's subject to a wee study..shame to let all that 'build it' talent and machinery to go to waste..build it guys!! I reckon it would also benefit the amount of 'P2' locos that Hormby can sell..why??,because it might just justify running one on ones layout...as a 'preserved' loco??, but then, who needs an excuse or justification,if you wants it,you buys it!!!("yes??").....perhaps, 'Hornby' will donate a couple of 'quid' to the trust for each loco it sells..."hmmmmmm"....Dave
