Nice engines tham thar kungs,I've got the old Lima one,is the Hornby one not just a reincarnation with a loco mounted motor,or is it a complete re-tooled loco from the rails up?? I've never read about anything about it in my mags...Dave

Not sure, but maybe the Lima version, but never having seen the Lima version of the King, I have no idea.
This one has ther drivers and motion blackend, which looks good and the bodywork is well done.

The 'Lima' King is not bad but it's tender drive unfortunately.Ive not seen mine for a long time, but I know it had big issues with the drive and constant derailing of the front bogie, I'm sure if Hornby have got a hold of it,it'll be re'tooled at least until they do a 'real' job on it. Anyoo, enjoy your 'new' loco Anthony,I'm sure that you will be pleased with it....Dave

Loco runs well, very quiet and looks good as well, tender is permanently coupled to the loco with wires running between the loco and tender. Only drawback is the traction tyres on the leading drivers. A good candidate for DCC sound, if the tender is setup for it.
Loco is DCC Ready, a chip will be fitted sometime in the future.

Don't much care for the either Phil,I unfortunately have a 'few'. I reckon they dirty the rail, plus they don't last forever..OK if you can source spairs, better still..re-wheel them!!...Dave

The A4 I had on back order arrived today, now just need to get the layout back together, so I can give it a run.
Heavier than I thought it would be.
