Been a while, since I've been on here been busy completed my degree and got a new job, but on another forum I saw build the mallard I did pass on the flying Scottsman but bought it a few years later. So I thought I'd build this one. www.buildalocomotive.com I've subscribed. So will let you know how it's going. Hope it's not a test I hate it when they don't say it's a test. Also hope to start get going on my n railway again for a while.

I've seen this online as well. But don't think I'll bother with it after the problems I have had with the Flying Scotsman, unless this is a lot better quality. Well done on completing the degree and getting a new job.

Hope it's not a test. Keep thinking, these tests must cost the places that create partworks a lot of money and I very much doubt they would get back very much of it.

Still nothing , thinking about just buying the kit straight from the DJH. Buts it's never same it's something to look forward to when it's in part work form. www.djhmodelloco.co.uk/prodpage.asp?productid=3436 mallard or do I go for the A2 bit less detail but impressive when built none the less.

A hard choice to make, other thing with a partwork is that you only have to pay a small amount each week or two and this is a one off payment. Think I would go for the full kit from DJH, which may even be better quality than the partwork, (really should be the same, since the partwork is based on the DJH kit). As to which loco, I like both of them and I've just seen a loco I would love to do, the AD60 class Garratt 6029, which is in Canberra and was steamed for the 1st time since 1981 in March. Not too much more to do with her, before she is running again. The Garratt www.djhmodelloco.co.uk/prodpage.asp?productid=3776

So from what I've read and that nothing has turned up it must off been a test, personally I think company's should be made to display that it is a test run, but I'm gonna save up and buy a A2 or A1 so watch this space will save me money in the long run. Thinking blue and white livery.

Blast and I was looking forward to seeing a build diary of the Mallard as well. I totally agree, companies should be made to display if it a test. But they probaly think, that if they did, no one would buy it.
Good luck with the A1 or A2. The blue and white livery is much better looking than the green they used.

Seems good quality, but might of find a issue with the instructions the upper rail holder at the back of the cab has no hole, but I checked the instructions and no hole is in the pictures until they fit the top rail holder and it just appears no mention of drilling it. Unless I'm I can't find it.
