Thanks Anthony (you should be home soon??), I really can't find fault with the A3,stunning locos in their late BR guise with the German type smoke deflectors. I especially like the smaller non corridor tender, bit of a change from what's usually the 'norm'........Dave

Yes Phil, indeed I am!! Gave it a run yesterday for the first time,(up and down my 'yard length!!') a wee bit jittery at slow speed and with me unable to give it a right work out, unfortunately it'll stay like that until 'whenever', but it goes. and that's what matters!......Dave

I can understand your feelings my friend, I purchased from Spain (I won't mention the vendor because they might send someone round to kick my door in, and I like my door), a "fine china clay tea setting" for mother's day, for you know who....(she collects these things, don't ask, I can't see anything wrong with trains and ships)........7 weeks before the day, how long now...past....the day!!!
Still no setting, no refund from the vendor, all I got was a tracking number....and it's no good.....hasn't been updated, so I've come to the conclusion it's lost.....or it's been broken and swept under the carpet or bench........but I've given it up as lost......I hope whoever has got it, enjoys the cuppa........Phil

Rails want me to get proof of posting from the post office Phil, (08/04)I gave them the parcel, they said "that's fine" and that was it, no receipt, no nothing, I know I should have 'registered' it, but up to then I trusted the system and I was not given that choice in any case, so I thought, 'ach' she'll be right!!,that was two months ago yesterday!!!! So my friend, is 'registered post' the only way that the receiver will actually get the parcel?, do we fork out this 'extra cost' just to guarantee that sender will infact get it??..if you don't pay up,..well, who knows where it'll go! I reckon 'registration' is akin to being held to ransom, this is a service of public trust, we should not have to register something just so we can have 'piece of mind' that it will infact reach it's destination, 'what if' we had to give a pilot of an aircraft a 'backhander' as well as the 'fare' to the airline, just to be sure he got us to our destination???, it's the same dirt to me!! I'm now convinced that the system sucks, something is way wrong, and if this is the case, it really needs investigated. Anyhoo, I'm going down there on Friday to see what's what..I should've kept the bloody thing and sold it, now I'll probably have a dirt fight with Rails to get my money back , and we are talking of round the 150 dollar mark, not buttons!! This type of thing frightens me Phil and places all sorts of doubt in my mind, I'd love to know the workings of the PO, like when you hand over that item of mail, just how it finds it's way to the receiver like it's supposed to, registered or not! So, to finish off the 'hypergripe' I definately reckon that there is dishonesty a foot somewhere in the chain, or it's just pure overall slackness in the postal system, and this is a service we are 'sup-post' to trust 100%, I tell you, it's made me think twice about ordering from overseas, but then, what choice do we have?..buy local??.....I don't think so!!......... it's still cheaper to loose it!!!!.......Dave
P/S, "OK" it only takes one incident like this Phil to give you misgivings of the system, especially if it might cost ME money through something that is NOT my fault. I have got all my stuff in the past from Rails and wherever,so I am really hoping Phil that it's simply on a 'slow boat' just so that I can avoid the upcoming melee with 'Rails' or the post office, that's why I've let it go on for so long but I reckon it's run it's course!!

Phoned PO HQ customer service, "by by 150 dolar by by'...not a leg to stand on folks, because it..'the parcel' was sent 'ordinary mail' the proof of postage that 'Rails of S' require from me cannot be aquired, just my word, that don't count, so that's it, Dave's had it!! I will send Rails an Email this avvo and tell them the news, whether they refund my money or not, that I don't know!, but the odds don't seem to be in my favour! So folks for doing what I was instructed to do, looks like I might be the one to wear it, unless of course the package turns up, highly unlikely now? Much the same happened with my Endeavour book from Amazon UK, but with the exception that this was just a straight forward transaction, I bought the book, it didn't arrive within a designated time, I got me money back, no sooner was the money in my account, I got the book!! I informed Amazon (the Bookseller actually) that the book arrived, but was told to keep it as I had been put through all the waiting,I had been very patient, plus I personally added a wee bit extra time on as well, "just to be sure', so I was politely told that I deserved to keep this book!!....that was good...Eh?? ..........now we'll see how Rails do business and if they really care about their customers!!!!.........Dave
