Well,I've finally scored a Backmann NRM Deltic loco. B'mann released 2 more LTD editions,500 of the 'pristine' one and a further 750 in a 'weathered' condition. The 500 'pristine' locos are Sold out already, but I managed to get a weathered one. The NRM does not post to Australia,so I've had it posted to my brother in laws address in Scotland, then he will forward it onto me, bit of a dirt rule , makes it a bit hard for anybody over here who would like one if they don't have friends or relatives in the UK!!, but I've got one, and I'm over the moon, the cost??... 156 quid!!..........Dave

Thanks Anthony,it's been dispatched from the NRM and on the 'track' to my Brother in laws up in Scotland,he should receive it round Tuesday or Wednesday, then depending on how quickly he posts it and the heavy Xmas mail, your guess is as good as mine as to when I'll get it, before Xmas would be good, but I'll need to remind him to send it 'air mail!'...Dave

Yip,it's a stunning loco Phil, best model loco ever I reckon, going by what I've seen and read so far (voted in 2010 best model) just gotta remember the brother in law to ensure it goes 'Air Mail' (as I've previously mentioned), so, I'll need to phone him tonight, and when I'm at it get him to apply the words 'Fragile' to the package as well! With a bit of luck the model may be in his post today, and maybe, just maybe it'll be in my Xmas stocking.... ? I'm still going to put the 'Replca' plastic kit together and finish it off, but I'm thinking that I'll use the motorising unit instead to power an old Tri-ang class 37 that I've extensively re-modelled and 'super detailed' as it still uses the old type motor and not a particular good runner, infact ,it's hopeless!!.......Dave

Yes.....very important word that "Fragile".........gives the post the authority to throw instead of kick......Phil

I like that Phil, just like the baggage handlers at the airport, how many items do you see cases or the likes being 'softly' lifted on or off that conveyer thingy from the aircraft hold??, or how many times has an issue containing 'fragile' parts for your precious model ship been folded up and stuck in your letter box??, even though it says quite clearly, 'Fragile' or 'Do not bend'!!...........you wonder if it's worth while, but at least you have a 'case' if it's broken or damaged..or do you??........Dave

Well...either way you go, by air or boat.....you still have one for the collection, and then, when auspost get it, it will take even longer to get to you....... then you will have forgotten all about it so it will be a pleasant surprise......Phil

Well, the Brother in 'L' was on the phone only this morning,(Wife passing on message to me,I'm at work, she's at home)she says to me, "Roy says, he's got the first parcel, when is this second parcel supposed to come and he'll post them together??", I reply, "what second parcel??" I think I may have given him a bum steer,I did mention something like that ,but it was only the 'badge' and Ltd Edition Cert, and that was just being sent in an ordinary envelope! So he's only just going to post it now,and with Xmas just round the corner,I might see it in Australia early in the New Year....I hope he registers it ,but I doubt it, normal Airmail alone will cost enough, and I'm getting that 'free',it's the Brother in Laws 'shout', so I didn't push for it to registered!!..fingers are crossed............Dave
