Hello Tony, no doubt it will 'come together', I'm quite sure that you will make it a very fine model indeed, first wood effort or not, just remember, do your own thing as much you as you can, you are going great guns so far and proved that!, but if you do get stuck, help is only a click away, there's guys out there that can help you.. that's for sure, experts at what they do, but 'you??' ...you are 'the man', don't go changing things for the sake of changing (just because others are) what others see the model as, is perhaps not how 'you' see it....(?) It's my opinion my friend that your target is for a pretty decent 'first time effort' model this time out, you have gone beyond what most of us where doing by putting in all that 'extra' detailing..... and making it all look so easy to boot!! So if you keep on trucking the way you are going Tony, you'll be right mate...that's for sure!!, and if you... 'sort of'... follow the instructions, re what goes where, you get the jist of it, but if you think that you see a better way, do think it out, then do it, make changes that 'you' want to make, if you feel that you are capable of making this kit into a 'museum piece'... go for it Tony!! Anyhoo, with this being 'the first' everything that you do this time round is a 'learning curve'.... an expensive one at that mind you!! and when you sit back and have a 'cuppa and a bicky' after completing 'a section', you think to yourself, "boy, I did a great job of that bit" (and I'm positive that you do, nothing wrong with self praise!!!!) you just get more confident in your capabilities, then it's roll on the next bit!!, then you'll be thinking, "Hmmmm", I likes working in wood...harrr ", but next time Tony, think of buying an 'Artisina Latina' kit, (or something) it'll brobably be 1/2 the price and twice as good.....I've subscribed and unsubscribed to my last 'partwork'!!...but you keep up the great work..I'll follow it with great interest......Dave

Wow !! thanks Dave, high praise indeed, I am still happy with it- but I think it may not quite make museum quality- even with some scratch building- but still good enough. I always admired others wooden ships and I dont know why it took so long for me to do one ( oh wait $$$ - I remember now ) Thanks Anthony, I keep checking to see your updates too. Hopefully I can get more done this weekend

Question for Skyfire ?, I have a MS word document that was free on the internet , it has the gun carriage drawings in 1/48 scale and 1/24 scale (you just print it and it comes out scaled) How do I attach it here- is it just like a photo attachment ?? I think it willl be very helpful for all of us. ;D

Think you can just attach is like any other attachment. Edit: Just did a test and yes you can attach a doc file.

I got tired of my slow progress on the cabin and attacked the planking. I took some advice and started to limit the use of the nails to only when needed. ;D Attachments:

Hi Tony I used as many nails as needed ,what I also did was use a very small nail punch and justtapped the nails in slightly so they wouldnt rip my sandpaper to shreds . Chriso

G'day Chriso, thats more or less what I did too but I also deliberately half pushed in the nails so I could pull them after the glue dried. Some didnt want to play that game and got driven in deeper out of the way. ;D
