Did you know the Battle of Jutland occurred on this day 31st May 1916, although there was no clear victor, the psychological effect on Germany was great, so.......1 - nil to Britain.........Phil

Nope, didn't know that Phil, but I should have because I have a friend here at work who comes over to me every morning, says his "good mornings " he then asks me "what's this day??" If I don't know,he then tells me what took place on this very day during the war years, he didn't tell me nowt this morning!!,so I'll need to phone him before I go...Dave

Fast working crew in the yards, just hope they are also good builders, don't want the ships sinking on launch. ;D

A lesson learnt......
I painted the brass catapults and the little AA gun turrets yesterday arvo and I was duly impressed with the result, but alas.....about an hour later I retrieved them from the shed........and on arrival at the work bench, unbeknownst to me, I dropped a single AA turret and a catapult, doh.....
I did feverishly scour the terrain in order to recover the lost parts, unfortunately their gone......I now have to make replacements, it's not the end of the world, but it's not a job I relish either, small and fiddly....
I laughed when a friend put his painted parts in a little lunch box for the journey from the shed back to the work bench, doesn't seem so silly now........Phil

I've put this ship as well as the Mikasa and Warspite away for now until it gets warmer, I tried to break with tradition and paint in the winter, but I'm going nowhere fast......weather is too poor, just wait for now......I've 18 jobs for the paintshop, the 19th will be waiting by the weekend.
I've designed a new paintshop that will be insulated etc so I'll be able to work in the cold climes as well, and best of all it will be mobile.....Phil

Good onya Phil, new paintshop sounds good, especially a 'take away one'..that's a great idea, now you can paint as you you squeeze out a number 2,, straight lines might be a problem though??..."Hmmmm".......Dave

Repaired the bilge keel, I broke it while moving it from it's hidey hole to the shed for further construction didn't notice until I was taking a picture or 2, but I'm planning a 6am paint job to add the grey to the upper works above the waterline. I have finished and painted most of her components, I just need to bring her together now....I moved her to the front of the line as she was in the most advanced state compared to the others I have waiting.....more soon....Phil
