I decided that the biggest let down with this model was the bogie frames sitting too low. It is not hard to see that the 'axle box' does not line up with the wheel centres,(same as per the Dapol class 22),so it needed to be fixed!! So with my usual, plan in the head, I go ahead and remove the frames and see what I can do. I will bung in a few photos and let you guys see the result wit a tiny bit of comment....Dave

Here you see how the frame is fitted to the bogie unit. There are 4 pins, these are gently prised off releasing the frame Attachments:

Good evening Anthony!!,still up??.....This is the full frame on the right, the 4 pins are cut off and the connection that holds the two halves is cut . The 'modified bogie side shows how i used a small length of 'Evergreen' 2mm X 2mm angle strip that is simply glued atop the 2 pins that have been 'temporally' fixed back onto the bogie (these were cut so they are the same size as the locators on the bogie) Once the glue had set, (10mins??)this unit was prised off and it's now like a small white bridge! This is now glued to a small channel that I have 'cleaned out' and this is now glued to the frame.... as per the photo. Each of the 4 frames are done in exactly in the same way and can still be easily removed if they have to be.... Attachments:

Here is another showing the 'new' frame height and white wall tyres,I think it shows up my work and I think it's a huge improvement...Dave P/S, I dropped the loco, knocked off a few pipes and halved one of it's buffers in two,the carpet monster claimed the 'half' so a brass 'oleo' buffer was found(not sprung) and is glued in place..bugger!!!! Well done with the mods, pity you had to drop it after all the work.
Now to see if I can actually get some sleep.

I think so, but that colour round the bottom half is wrong being what is infact (I think) 'Sherwood green' It should be the same colour as it's 'big brother' Deltics which is predominently more 'yellowish' so this will have to be sourced from the UK,but as paint seems to be an item that can no longer be sent from there,I'll need to get my Edinburgh mate to send it to me via the back door!! I thought I had the paint in my collection, alas, I aint!! I mentioned that I dropped it,that's a fact, I was lucky nothing really serious was done as it's quite a heavy wee loco, loosing a sprung buffer and some broken pipes was nothing,I did exactly the same with the class 22,breaking one of the sprung buffers as well...getting careless in my old age!!.Dave

I managed to order some paint from Cornwall Model Boats, not much use for the Deltic though.

I've just read through a Forum of 18 pages on the 'BD' and the subject of this 'band', was brough up only once, not about it's colour, but it's width!! It makes me wonder if my eyes are deceiving me because I have a great colour photo in a book called "green Diesel Days'!, you know what..I don't think so,!!...Dave

It's a thin band Phil,"I'm really not shure if you are ashking a sheerius queshtyin mish Moneypenny" If I shed it wuz thick, noo, jisht exashtly wid that mean?" The bon dizshny huv a klew and ur mimin?'" ??Right? , well, just aff a forum where a guy is adam adamint that it is Sherwood green and sent me heaps of photos to prove the fact...there were more than what you could poke a stick at,but they all looked the same shade as per a Deltic ,through the dirt and grime, through strange lighting conditions it definately is NOT Sherwood green....it's as per a 'Deltic a Deltic and a Deltic!!!" I even asked a non interested person here at work "is this THAT colour???"(going between my photo of my model and his lot of the 'real thing') and he agreed emphatically that the colours were totally different, but who am I??,just an old Australian fart who'll believe anything,I wouldn't believe it if it were written,it is what it is 'Yellow/Green' as per a you know what,so "ma twa boabs wurth is in!" I'm going to take a photo of a photo of a newly re-furbished shining loco and one of my model and put them side by side and then post the frigging thing!!.............Dave
