Been doing some more building work on Illustrious. I am about to fit and glue the main deck into position. Airfix are not as good as they were 40 years ago. The fit of some of the parts is very poor, I am having to do some cutting and filling to make a good fit. When I have finished this stage of it, I will try and post some photos. Martin

A pity that the parts fit is so bad. At one time I was looking at one of the Airfix models, can't remember which 1 it is now.

Managed to fit and glue the main deck into position, with a little bit of work with a Dremel and a bit cutting. The deck would not sit square and level, but it does now!! Not managed to take any photos yet. Martin

Well done, it's a pity quality in a lot of things is getting worse these days. Also well done not melting the plastic with the dremel.
I tried drilling into some plastic with the motor tool I have and just melted the plastic a bit. Had to do it by hand in the end.
At least the well known makes of model railway loco and rollingstock are mostly still ok for quality.
