I have been working on a little monitor named Abercrombie, this is my first attempt at anything in ship form larger than 200 scale that's not plastic. The hull is almost finished, it is fibreglass and a myriad of small pin holes have been filled, however I need to get a primer on her to see if there are anymore.

I intend to build the superstructure and associated deck furniture from timber and resin, not sure as to whether she will be radio controlled or not, the jury is still out on that, but she has been started...more soon.....Phil

There you have it, it's not a lizard....but a very nice little ship with a very nasty bite.......the main turret housed 15" guns that were originally earmarked for HMS Furious.

So when Furious was converted to a carrier the guns were placed on the Abercrombie and Roberts, making them both very nasty little opponents........Phil

Dry fitted the prop shafts on Sunday arvo......fiddly job, but I need the rudder assembly in place so I can set the props and then get the motor mounts in the right place, but the washers I ordered for the rudder haven't arrived yet.......Phil

Well my washers arrived......you know the little round rubbery thingys that seal the shaft n keep the vasser oot.........special little grommets all the ways from Cornwall........Phil

Now I've relocated, I have commenced work on a thing or two......

I've lined the 2 stern deck housings that support the port and starboard pom pom mountings.......

I've also started to fit the A frames to the prop shafts and to shape the hull around the shafts exit points......

I'll get some piccies on the roll as well.......Phil

I've been plodding along with this ship, but the parts I need still haven't arrived from Ameri-key.

I've been amusing myself with the hull, still filling the pin holes, but she's almost there, I've come to the point where I need to give her a coat of paint to see where the rest of the pin holes are hiding.

Started work on the, aft centre deck support again, the original template piece got snaffled by my trusty hound, and he made it look like the scrappers had got at it!!! I also cut out the main aft deck section, she's getting there.......Phil
