If you build the Amati Bluenose beware there is an error in the plans, (or in the instruction book). Luckily found it before I had gone to far.
Parts 15 & 16 should be 17 & 18. Parts 17 & 18 should be 15 & 16.

Latest photo of the build. Latest photos of the build. Masts are not glued in yet. Latest update on the bluenose build. I have been adding some reinforcing parts behind each of the ribs to gives the planks something more to stick onto.

Latest photo of the build, this time of parts that make even Bissys 2nd layer planking seem ultra easy. They are very short pieces of 1 by 2 mm limewood that go from the deck to the top of the bulwark, (marked by the white lines). There is 44 of them to be glued on, so far I have a total of 4. Btw ignore the pencil markings, they're in the wrong place. Pencil lines won't be visible after it's painted and the top pieces go on.

Well some more work on the Bluenose. These small pieces of wood that represent the frames are worse than the planking on Bismarck. The small pieces I have done are spaced 12mm apart. I used a scrap piece of deck planking cut to 12mm as the spacer between each part and ended up with 13 each side, (plans showed 12 each side). Someone else on the course worked out the 12mm spacing and, (I think) had the right number.

I have at long last finished the small pieces of wood that represent the frames. All 46 of them, 23 each side.

A slightly different view of the Bluenose. I still need to do some work on the bow area. I was thinking of using what the instructions say and then laying a second plank of walnut over the top to match the rest of the hull.
