I’ve got problem with a 00-gauge Hornsby 08 class with built in DCC sound. On my track other trains work fine, they start without having a little push. It seems that this train is too light though and requires a little push. Has anyone else ever come across this problem?

Not had that problem, except when I overload a loco.
Are the wheels slipping when it tries to move off with a load on behind, also what size load are you trying to move with it. You could add some weight to the loco, but be careful though, a lot of model locos are designed to slip their wheels. if the load is too high to stop the motor getting burnt out.
Think I read somewhere the real ones had problems with wheel spin as well.

This one doesn’t move with no wheel spin or under no load. It buzzes (from the speaker) when it getting power, but it has no power because there no buzz until you push it a little.

Are you running on DC or DCC, as DCC locos when run on DC need a higher starting voltage than non DCC locos.

Wonder if one of the CVs is messed up, you should be able to reset them on the chip, or if not that, then maybe a slightly loose contact somehwere.
