Just hoping I can still afford to get it whenever it comes, with the way the dollar is going.

I hope you can afford to Anthony ,you do buy a lot of stuff from the UK, (as do a few of us, so you are not alone!!) at this moment your 'Gerry loco' will cost you 518 Australian! When my crane came from the UK last week, the exchange rate was 60pence, the above is the 'official' rate at 63p, I'm thinking, if I seriously wanted it, I'd be 'taking the chance' now. I'm no financial expert, nor do I have a crystal ball, the dollar could very well go up..and there again..'slide slide slide'...so we takes a chance, if it bites us on the bum, bugger bugger!!, but I can tell you this, is it goes 'doon' , I'll be cancelling the 'BG', that's for sure, and reconsidering a couple of others!!........Dave

£266.33 to send it out, (from the email confirmation from Hattons).
Google has the following on 8th June 2013 at 12:21pm. 266.33 British Pound Sterling equals 421.16 Australian Dollar
We will just have to hope it doesn't slide anymore and starts going up again.

It seems the 42XX is apparently sold out, (or there is further production problems) so the chances of bagging one of these seems rather remote, not that I wanted one, just like my 'Dapol Western! '....Dave

Went to give the loco it's first run on the layout and it barely made it round the first curve before it died. Loco is now dead as a dodo. Sent an email off to Hattons about it.

"Wow!!"..that's no very good Anthony...total bummer infact, sorry to hear that my friend,(and you waited for sooo long) I'm hoping you get a replacement for it ,but it's all the bother involved......sending it back, the the waiting for them to get it before a replacement is finally sent to you.......a total and absolute pain in the preverbial!! I've had the same happen to me as well,a Brittania,an erattic runner, and a 'Corronation' loco that virtually 'fell off' the track when power was applied!!! but me like an silly 'fixed it'...I know it's not the way as your warranty 'goes oot the windy'....but the thought of all the above set up the challenge to 'strip em down'........not really for the faint of heart!!...Dave

No more available for the 42XX and same with the 72XX, so in the end decided to get a refund on it.
