That's hard lines Anthony, unfare even, but it just confirms something I head earlier on about the availability of these locos, really sucks in my mind, 'LTD Editions??' LTD Runs??.. are these 'things' the sign of the times?, perhaps, and with manufacturing costs sky-rocketing, the 'dies' for these 'runs' are still produced, then, after a run of say 500??, (that's 500 lucky 'Poms', by the time the news reaches us, the things are 'sold out!') I'd like to know if the likes of Dapol, Backmann, Hornby, fully destroy the 'dies' for these 'runs' so that they can never be used again???why not put them into 'stock', and do 'runs' every now and again giving other 'unluckies' a bite at the cherry??..look how much stuff can still be had from the old ancient 'Kitmaster and Airfix' stuff?? , it's still around, obviously it was stored, found, restored, the re-used to re-produce more of their kits, (now branded and sold by 'Dapol') Natural wear and tear is obviously taking its toll on these old 'kits' ,perhaps they lack in detail (on that note,is Hornby's 'short cut' to a 'cheaper production cost' is to leave off some detail that we have been used to expect??) Anyway, not all the 'old kits' are around, time itself destroyed these dies, perhaps if they had been 'stored' or looked after better, who knows... So, I ask you?, why do we have these 'Wish lists?', why??, because some manufacturer might produce something that we desperately want, then when the 'great news' filters through, the run has ended,no more will be produced, we miss out, and the 'wishing' starts all over again, great, but it sucks!!, only the 'minority' who were in there first get to own one, not us poor souls who actually wanted one, to own it, to run it, not to keep it in it's box and sell it on EBay many years (or days!!) later for a very hefty price tag!!, going to the bother of manufacturing the things in the first place only to please the minority, what a lucky lot!!....Dave

Had an email to say the order for this loco has been processed. So much for Hattons sending updates about it, didn't get a single one.

Good news on my 42XX class loco, after Hattons reset the decoder back to the factory default of 3, it's running fine. So I have sent an email confirming that I want it returned. Hope it runs ok this time.

Loco runs well on DCC, but doesn't move on DC, which is correct for a european digital loco, as they can only run on DCC. Think if I had the right system to reprogram the decoder, I could get it to run on DC as well. But been thinking, what is the point as the layout is heading toward being 100% digital anyway.

Gave the loco a test run after getting it back from Hattons and it managed 3 circuits of the layout.

Been thinking of getting a few more Castle class locos, only I don't think there is anymore in GWR green.
