Yeah the brass is good to work with Anthony, I had lots of filing to do to get the shape right then clean it up with emery and it silver solders really well.

Never done silver soldering or know that much about it. Something I must try someday, along with soldering brass sheet, (like that used in the Flying Scotsman partwork).

A bit more progress, finished the hatches on the quarterdeck bulkhead and fitted the shutters to the side windows

I have a serving machine that I bought off a guy in Belarus who makes them. Here is one shroud pair served in the middle and siezed, its then just put over the mast head. Siezing is just practice, I used the thin rope supplied with the partwork for siezing. The shrouds themselves are rope that I purchased. I have a rope walk and I am making a lot of the rope but for the shrouds I couldn't find any thread the right size to make them out of. Attachments:

Not sure how mine will turn out when I get to that stage. I will just use what comes with the partwork, just hope I don't run out of thread.

Looking great. How much tension do you have on each shroud and do you have to have tension on them ??
