Don't you just love 'leftovers' Tony and Chriso..it certainly makes you ponder,"hmmmmm", then you go back and look through your 'museum piece model, "what the ...****'* **** have I ..****** ..up on....I've followed their..****'*.. instructions...well....sort of??"...scratchy de heed??....so you wonder..... and ponder more? ...she'll be right.... it has to be!!!..Dave

I'm surprised there are leftovers, these builds are usually pretty tight on what is supplied........I had to buy some extra for the Bismarck to compensate for the ones I couldn't use......but she's looking mighty fine Chrisco.....Phil

Regarding the leftovers , I ( cynically ) think they have stretched this out a lot further than needed . Even if following the instructions to the letter ,theres a fair bit of wastage, we would still have a lot leftover. The suppliers could have done this whole thing with prob. 20-30 or more issues less, but this would mean $300 or more they miss out on. Chris

It's always the way with part works Chriso, one week you get nothing for your bucks, the next?, seems you get a bit more..it's the ole 'stretcheryroo method',makes it go further, therefor more buckeroos for these pirates!!......Harr.......Dave

I wouldn't call them pirates Dave.......robbing bastards more likely.....
I called them about broken parts in issue 43, still waiting for the promised replacement and I've got another 6 issues with broken parts in them since the last request.......it just gets worse.......Phil

But you shouldn't have to worry Phil, you cancelled like me,but I suppose you are still entitled to chase up parts that have been broken in issues that you have received previously, get right up them the robbin bastardios. As you say,it seems to worsen,I'm glad I'm out of it,but I do miss the build, maybe more the 'on line banter', I just had to give it up before things got worse, and as you read through the recent posts,it becomes even more ridiculous re ill fitting parts, just think it's probably up there in the 60s,that's 40 parts still to go,how bad will it get???........Dave

I think the worst part of all this, is the fact that the communication lines are just not open, it would be nice to get some genuine customer service and followup..........Phil

That's the funny thing Phil, building the Titanic and the Bismarck and this 'current' cancelled effort, I've never really encountered problems re communications and getting the replacement parts or back orders that I have required or requested. The Titanic (as an example) was the worst by far of any of my 'partworks', Mr post man aka...'the destroyer' destroying just about every other issue, I had heaps of 'spares' for that one, it seems like I was never off the phone, Bissett even repacked parts with a heavy cardboard backing to try and fix the problem!!(it worked for a wee while) Anyhoo,I reckon I must have been lucky then Phil, I can understand where your at and if you are not getting the 'required service' that you need, you have every reason to be 'ever so slightly' pissed off and subsequently..pissing them off!!.. Makes us wonder then why we are even considering the 'HOOD' (when she eventually appears on the Aussie market!), it's a foreskin conclusion that we will no doubt encounter serious problems that we will have to deal with , you might find their service OK and improved this time round, 'if' you have to deal with 'customer service, I (me) on the other hand, I just might get what you suffered Phil in your endeavour with the Endeavour, (you didn't endeavour it!!) Anyhoo,at this point in time it's not here,so we don't have to worry,so if we 'subscribe' to it, we can only hope that for us both and every other 'partworkier' out there, she's a 'good un!!' So we wait, we see what's what, perhaps a great lesson in customer service has been learned by 'them' and the 'makers' of the 'HOOD' can get it right...cough!! We'll just have to keep an eye on the UK builds Phil and see how they're going, If the 'feedback' is totally 'unCOOL & BAD,well, knowing so, would I still take the plunge,(will you??) and go against what my brain tells me, still buy it???...I'd say "yes, no worries yip yip I'll 'ave it" but maybe, just maybe, I'm a wee bit wiser after the Endeavour experience, after all, it's not everday you wave goodbye to 750 bucks or so of an unfinished model....Dave

Hi everyone Been a bit quiet on here of late ? Thought Id show what I been up to lately, with the ship that is hehe Building some gun carriages, finishing the hatchways and the keel. Also the supplied capstan looks a bit ordinary and the way they show how to do it looks absolutely crap, I mean 'black texta for the holes' seriously So I made my own capstan from a plan I googled . ;D Cheers guys Chris.
