I have the rudder taped to the hull with the hinges in place to go on the hull. Won't take much to have it on. However i have noticed the wales are not quite right at the back and now is the best time to correct that. I have them about 1 plank to high when they arrive at the stern. Damn and blast. I will have to remove them from about half way and redo half of them. Not happy Jan !! I could leave it but; now I've noticed, I am going to have to fix it.

Good luck fixing the Wales. That is the problem when you see a mistake, it bugs you until it is fixed.

You are spot on with that comment Anthony. I would not have been happy and it would have eaten at me. So I bit the bullet and made a start. The most destructive hard bits done and now I get to fix things. No wonder it's been ten years with all this backwards /forwards business. The wales are a whole plank lower at the stern

Now comes the repair job and cleanup. At least you found it now, instead of after the ship was fully rigged.

Yeah I agree , a blessing in disguise At least I'm building now and not deconstructing I'll feel better when it's cleaned up and done.

I got some info on the Anchors that I will share here. It's from Shipaholic. .So the small bower anchor should be the one that is 76.5mm and the sheet anchor and best bower anchor should be 78.6mm long Caldercraft do one 74mm long and 88mm long. I have ordered two 74mm and one 88mm ones. I may be able to trim the 88mm one down to 79mm, if not , two 74mm ones it is. The kit supplied one is 50mm. Perhaps a little anemic. I have my wales timber ready to go (wood grain filler applied and sanded) but I had to order the 1mmx5mm strips so that will slow me down. I had some shaped timber strips turn up today that I hoped would look the part for the side hull and stern. They will be perfect. Lthump

I'm sticking with what they include with the partwork!

I only have one partwork to do and I will not have another ten yrs to try another. So that's how I justify buying whatever I need. I will scratch-build if I have to, but it's quicker to buy it, if it's available. I am trying to finish the Endeavor before I run out of time. No panic, still got years yet. Even though i don't work it's surprising how your time gets used up. There's always things to fix up around the house. Started attaching the new wales today. Due to having to bend them a bit towards the stern I just nailed and glued the forward ends and let the glue dry first.

Now for the filling and painting.I need to find some 1mmx5mm strip in my timber collection to finish. Most nails come out when glue dries.

Looking good so far and something to look back on when I eventually get round to doing this bit on mine.

Yes , be careful where the wales end up at the front and the back.Don't do what the instructions say exactly. If you look at the replica and copy you won't go wrong.I had to go nearly a whole strip lower at the back than I was to get it to look right later. Nails are out, after a good sanding , sanding filler applied and still going OK. Paint tomorrow hopefully. The paint is old , hope it's still good.

I am hoping the paint I bought for my Endeavour early on in the build is still viable, it has never been opened, so should be ok, if I can ever find it!!!

Good news about my paint . It's ten yrs old and still good. So if yours hasn't been opened I would think it will be fine. I am also happy with the wales but ,wish I had the 1x5mm plank to finish. I ordered a couple but with covid it might take a while to arrive. PS - I made the pic smaller is that better or no !!
