I use 800 x 600 pixels for my photos, but this size looks fine to me. Good to hear your paint is still viable.

I have had a little break from the endeavor, however I'm back at it again. I have the rudder attached without tape. I just have to finish the nails on it. Some of my skin is stuck on there (bloody super glue) which I need to remove. LOL

Acetone works well if you get youself stuck to whatever you are using super glue on.

I have some acetone paint remover but I wouldn't put it on my skin.

The acetone I am talking about is what comes in nail varnish remover, (be careful, not all of them have it), which is safe for skin.

Well , I have the rudder attached and all nails in. I have to make some more metal strapping as the kits strapping is to short. It goes wider on the rear end (stern) I wet the timber to neutralize the blackening agent but it gives an idea of what it will look like with the satin clear lacquer on.

Looks great. What did you use for the blackening agent and why the water ?

Back on page 26 there's a photo of the ageing solution (blue bottle and in front of it is the paint stripper you need to clean the brass (no finger grease) Basically the ageing solution is a weak acid that rusts the brass and is diluted by water. Paint stripper washes off with water to but if you read the label you don't want any on you. 1 minute with the paint stripper and 5 minutes in the ageing solution. Paint stripper was from Bunnings and the ageing solution I got from ebay. The ageing solution for blackening brass comes in different bottles and the small ones are just as dear as the 500ml bottle I got. So best to get the big bottle. It was from Australia too HINT don't leave the brass in the ageing solution to long or it rusts to much and you have to sand it off and start again I found the ageing solution and the paint stripper didn't hurt the timber so I touched up the hinges after I had them on the endeavor and used a spray bottle of water to neutralize the acid so it doesn't keep working

I have finished the wales repair and some other repairs. Might actually start going forward again.. You can see the difference in anchor size from the kit to the larger bought size on the quarter deck. I have also tried out fishing crimps and they make excellent hinges.
